The mother of Shelden William's child is still alive...

Today, Tuesday, June 30th Candace Parker returned to practice just six weeks after giving birth to her first baby daughter Lailaa Nicole Williams marking the league's first somewhat interesting act in its twelve year history. As an avid WBNA fan I can quite confidently state that nothing remotely exciting has ever happened to this or in this league. Not even the WNBA's Michael Jordan, Sheryl Swoopes, stepping out of the closet, which merited several social and cultural accolades, even comes remotely close to the level of awe of the events that transpired today.

Meet Shelden Williams. Mr. Williams is a former Duke standout and a current bench warmer on the Minnesota Timberwolves. Shelden Williams is Candace Parker's husband, the father to her daughter Lailaa, and the reason for the first notable achievement of anything having to do with the WNBA. Actually, I take that back Shelden is not responsible, his fivehead is. I only say this because, if Mr. Williams and Mrs. Parker's daughter Lailaa's head is anything remotely close to the size of her father's, Mrs. Parker just completed a miraculous recovery of passing the biggest fetus kidney stone in human history. I am still having trouble wrapping my head around it, or better yet, Lailaa's head out of the accomplishments of Mrs. Parker. Even with my basic understanding of Gregor Mendel's work on genetics (how cranial gi-normousness not be a dominant trait?), the human anatomy, obstetrics, and anything having to do with the girth of Shelden Williams' head I cannot understand how she recovered in a mere six weeks. Its not like she is coming back to work in an office or anything, truly amazing. BTW, I guess I should have expected this.

P.S.

Doesn't Shelden Williams look like he has been drinking Mr. Burn's "Brain and Nerve Tonic" ala Ken Griffey Jr. with gigantism, who also partook in the tonic in Episode 317: "Homer at the Bat"
